About Blue Reef

The wonders of the deep are on show as living displays that reveal the sheer variety of life in the deep, from tropical sharks and stingrays to giant lobsters, elegant seahorses and playful otters.

Blue Reef’s innovative displays, informative talks and feeding demonstrations will keep the family fully entertained. There’s plenty to explore and learn at each of its four locations in Hastings, Newquay, Portsmouth and Tynemouth.

If there is a birthday coming up, you can choose from a selection of fun birthday party packages and hold your party amongst the amazing sea-life. The birthday child can even help feed the sharks and rays!

Look out for family events throughout the year at all the locations.

Blue Reef Portsmouth

This location includes a giant ocean tank where an underwater tunnel offers incredibly close encounters with puffer fish, triggerfish and hundreds of vibrant tropical fish amid the beauty of a recreated coral reef.

Don’t forget your towel and a bucket and spade to make the most of the aquarium’s outdoor Blue Reef Beach Club.

Blue Reef Hastings

Located in the largest beach-launched fishing community in the UK, Blue Reef Hastings providing a wealth of educational material for children of all ages.

Blue Reef Aquarium has creatures from the shoreline to the deep waters and enjoy close encounters with sharks, rays and puffer fish and many more. At the aquarium’s heart is a giant ocean display where you can walk through an underwater tunnel. There are also some remarkable reptiles too! Look out for daily talks and feeds.

Blue Reef Aquarium Newquay

Situated on Towan Beach overlooking the famous island, directly below Newquay Town Centre, Blue Reef Newquay has over 40 naturally themed underwater habitats. See the spectacular coral reef housed within a giant ocean display, home to sharks, angel fish, puffer fish, eels and more. Look out for interesting talks and feeding times and have a peep into the fish nursery.

Blue Reef Tynemouth

Encounter life beneath the sea, meet all kinds of animals and don’t miss the harbour seals and cotton-top tamarins. Check out the interesting talks, feeding sessions and special events and birthday party packages.
