The family will love visiting the East Somerset Railway, a heritage steam railway that runs through the Mendip Hills. A return journey on the 2.5 mile stretch near Shepton Mallet takes around 40 minutes. Check out the engine shed, small museum, Signal Box and Miniature Railway (the latter two are only open on specific days).
