Warwick Castle details...

History, myth, adventure and magic! It’s no surprise that Warwick Castle is one of the most popular family days out in the West Midlands. This magnificent castle with towers and ramparts will captivate visitors of all ages.

Explore the gatehouse and barbican. See the portcullis, spot murder holes and arrow slits. Admire the views and follow in the footsteps of medieval crossbowmen and archers as you walk along the curtain walls.

Enter the Time Tower to enjoy an immersive audio-visual multimedia experience and discover the 1,100-year vibrant and bloodthirsty history of a castle that once controlled the middle of England.

Admire beautiful interiors including the Great Hall and state rooms. Then wander through exquisitely designed rooms containing wax figures to find out what a Victorian weekend party would have been like.

A horrible highlight for brave children aged over 10 years is likely to be the scary Castle Dungeon. This 50-minute interactive walkthrough experience will send shivers down the spine (an extra charge applies; book timed tickets in advance online or on arrival). Do confirm suitability for your own family before embarking on this experience.

Young knights will enjoy finding out about war in the 15th century at Kingmaker. If you’ve a would-be princess in the family, collect a free timed ticket to visit the Princess Tower.

There are three Zog attractions, which are sure to be a hit with young visitors. Zog and the Quest for the Golden Star is an interactive trail aiming to teach budding dragons the skills necessary to become a fully fledged dragon. Also look out for Zog Playland and the Zog Live Show with live puppetry, special effects and interactive routines. The show runs on selected dates only.

Don’t go home without strolling through the gardens designed by Lancelot ’Capability’ Brown and taking the kids to let off steam in the Pageant Playground.

There are daily shows such as bird of prey and jousting displays. Just check the website to find out what’s on when you are planning to visit. If you would like to turn your day out into a short break for the family, visitors can choose from Knight’s Village Lodges, Knight’s Village Glamping and Caesar’s Tower Suites hidden within the castle’s 14-century tower.
