For a free day out with the children in Monmouthshire, try Caldicot Castle and Country Park. Follow a kids activity trail around the medieval castle, climb the medieval towers, walk the battlements and discover the chilling dungeon. There is a great view of the Severn estuary from the Castle’s tower.
Outside are 55 acres of parkland to explore with areas of woodland, picnic spots, a river, play area and trails. Bike hire may be available at certain times (book in advance). The Castle is closed in winter.
