Becky Falls Woodland Park details...

Set within a spectacular ancient valley, Dartmoor’s famous Becky Falls has been attracting visitors since 1903, and no trip to Devon would be complete without a visit.

Take time to explore over 50 acres of woodland and streams which are rich in wildlife. There is a choice of trails to suit all ages and abilities. Choose the Blue Trail for a more gentle walk along the Becka Brook and through the ancient oak woodland.

Then it’s on to the Red Trail where you will discover a stunning waterfall and its dramatic 70ft drop at the heart of the park. For the more adventurous why not have a go at the notoriously fun boulder scramble and if you enjoy that, carry on to the Purple Trail for views of the beautiful lower falls on more rugged terrain.

To help children really discover nature Explorer Backpacks are available to borrow, and whilst you’re adventuring through the ancient woodland collect all the stamps on your trail card – there’s a prize for every child who takes part.

Take a visit the reptile house to see its slithery and crawly residents. On your way if you’re lucky and you truly believe, the pixies might allow to see their secret village!

While you’re at the reptile house, stop and have a go at the seasonal children’s craft activities. Don’t forget to meet at the wishing well for the twice daily animal feeding sessions and help the keepers feed the animals in the petting area.

During weekends, school holidays and daily throughout July and August, there are hands-on animal encounter shows. Visit the Cute and Cuddly show for a chance to handle some of the smaller and more fluffy creatures, or the fun-filled and educational Scary Animal Show for a chance to get very close to some rather more exotic creatures.

Finally there is the ”Meet the Meerkats” Keeper Talk, where you can meet some of the park’s more mischievous residents while they have their supper!

After all this why not relax in the Woodland Café or visit the gift shop. There really is something for all ages (including your dog, who will be made very welcome!).

Remember, once you’ve paid your entrance fee, all the shows and activities are included – so there’s nothing else to pay! Get set for a perfect Dartmoor Day!

Becky Falls is just 10 minutes from the A38 expressway.
