It’s officially time to wrap up warm, no excuses. The clocks have gone back, the leaves are falling, and the kids are busy thinking up what to put on their Christmas lists.

This time of year is truly exciting, with Halloween out the way and with Christmas on the horizon, November is a wonderful month to get out and about in rain, shine or drizzle, before the festive season rolls in.

Today we bring you our TOP 12 fun events to head to this November. There is something for everyone!

1. November Story Time at Weymouth SEA LIFE Adventure Park, Dorset

Take your little ones for a wonderful day out at Weymouth SEA LIFE Adventure Park in Dorset and join in the fun at Story Time with Ladybird books!

2. Ice Skate at Skate Tunbridge Wells, Kent

Have lots of family skating fun at Calverley Grounds Ice Rink, which this year has just got bigger and better! What makes this ice skating experience truly unique is the fact it is set in a beautiful amphitheatre. There’s even an extra ice rink especially for Parent and Toddler Sessions!

3. Flambards Christmas Craft Fayre, Cornwall

This one at the very end of November is a wonderful Christmas Fayre for all the family to enjoy and one to put in the diary now!

This Fayre is said to be a truly Dickensian Christmas shopping experience, whatever the weather! Explore the full-sized Victorian Village and discover a large variety of craft stalls. Sample local treats among the authentic 19th Century installations, which include a milliners, butchers and sweet shop, among many others!

4. The Science of Roald Dahl at Winchester Science Centre and Planetarium, Hampshire

This spectacular live show is not to be missed! If you have ever wondered what’s needed to get James’ peach to fly then this is the show for you! Join BBC Bitesize science presenter Jon Chase as he delves into the whoopsy waffling worlds of Roald Dahl! This brilliant live science show will spark children’s curiosity in science and, if they’re not already hooked, the much-loved stories of Roald Dahl.

5. The Festival of Light: Myths & Legends at Longleat, Wiltshire

This one is definitely worth the distance for a family day trip. Not only will the Estate be gleaming with lanterns, the Enchanted Christmas Tree Show and more but Longleat House itself will come to life with a roaring 1920s Christmas party theme. The legendary Festival of Light is returning for its sixth year showcasing Myths and Legends. It draws inspiration from epic stories from around the world: from the gods and magical beings of ancient Greece to heroic tales of British folklore. Expect to see Pegasus, the Genie in the lamp, the Kraken and the Chimera, not to mention Zeus, Hercules, Medusa, Aphrodite and so many more during your day out.

6. Chiddlers’ Hour Toddler Sessions at the Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre, Buckinghamshire

There is so much fun for toddlers at this delightful museum. For those with little ones why not take them to these delightful sessions at the Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre in Buckinghamshire.

7. Dippy on Tour at the National Museum Cardiff

See Dippy, the famous dinosaur cast, in South Wales from 19th October 2019 until 26th January 2020. Great way to encourage an interest in natural history.

8. Ludlow Medieval Christmas Fayre, Shropshire

One of the places to take the kids in Shropshire at the very start of the festive season is the fantastic Ludlow Medieval Christmas Fayre. There will be activities and entertainment for all ages, from toddlers to grandparents. So gather the family together and enjoy a great day out in the lovely setting of Ludlow Castle.

9. Christmas Family Fayre at Magna Science Centre, South Yorkshire

Get in the spirit at the end of November and celebrate the coming festive season with the kids at the Christmas Family Fayre at Magna in Rotherham. Embrace the Christmas spirit, head on down to Magna Science Adventure Centre for the annual festivities with all the family.

With over 60 seasonal craft and gift stalls, food and drink, festive entertainment and free parking. Children’s festive activities and fairground rides alongside a visit to Father Christmas in his grotto make for the perfect family day out for the run up to the big day. Catch an encounter with Santa’s real live reindeer too!

10. Slime Show at The Look Out Discovery Centre, Berkshire

Treat the kids to a fun day out at the Look Out Discovery Centre in Berkshire this winter and enjoy the Slime Show. Be ready for a really repulsive experience. So take the family along to find out why snails and slugs are so slimy. Also discover whether you really can cut, stretch and bounce slime!

The Look Out’s shows are a great way to encourage children to engage with science. They are designed for children of primary school age.

11. Ice Rink and Santa’s Grotto at Millets Farm Centre, Oxfordshire

Get your skates on and enjoy the undercover real-ice rink at Frosts Garden Centre, part of Millets. Each session lasts 45 minutes and tickets include skate hire. Young skaters can use skates that strap over their shoes with twin blades. There is a viewing area for spectators and push-along skate aids are available to hire – perfect for young skaters in need of extra confidence. Afterwards, warm up in the Ice Café with seasonal treats!
