Top tips and ideas for home learning

Many children have still yet to return to school. Tackle one of the biggest lockdown challenges, home learning!
As parents try to juggle embracing this period and homeschooling, it can seem like an impossible challenge for many.
However, what if home learning should look different from school? Does that seem a little more manageable?
Our top tip is to get children to help plan their day so it is of actual interest to them too. The day is bound to look different to their usual school day and might be made up of a couple of hours of school work in the morning and some games, craftwork and playtime in the afternoon. According to Britain’s first play Professor Paul Ramchandi, responsive parenting is key to supporting young children’s learning and social and emotional development. Time to play right now is crucial and is coming into a world of it’s own during the lockdown.
