Live world class show performed by a huge cast, an amazing journey through 2000 years of history, myth and legend in Durham from 7th Aug to 11th Sept 2021.
Kynren Showground, Bishop Auckland, Durham, DL14 7SF
Plan ahead to attend the re-scheduled ‘Kynren’ festival in the North East, an action packed, open air show of dazzling proportions in the county of Durham. In the UK’s most spectacular live action theatre performance watch legends come to life on a giant outdoor stage as a 1,000-strong cast and crew present the spectacular story of England, 2,000 years in the making. Kynren tells the incredible story of invasions, Royal splendour, wars, heroic sacrifice, daily life and seismic change down through the centuries. Children will be enthralled as they join Arthur, the son of a mining family, on his spellbinding journey back through time.
The dazzling pyrotechnics, magical choreography, amazing stunts and hard-to-believe horsemanship combine with an inspired, original soundtrack to create an unforgettable family experience. Meet Romans, medieval knights, Victorians and experience the lavish pomp and pageantry of Royal ceremony. Watch out for the Vikings as they as they launch a dramatic longship attack on a fishing village; leaving a trail of destruction and fire in their wake.
Before the Show visit the new Viking Village and take a stroll along the stream and watch the sparks fly at the working blacksmith’s forge where you’ll be able to see real chainmail being made, and don’t miss the Animal Croft where you can meet some of the animal cast of Kynren.
The show opens on 7th August and runs until 11th September 2021 with shows billed for Saturday nights with Pre-show attractions starting at various times from 4.30pm until 6pm.
Ticket prices range from £25 to £69 depending on seat standard, children 4-17 years have a reduction of £10 on seat price and children under 3 years have free entry when sitting on an adults knee.
