One of the fun places to go with the kids in Herefordshire this February half term is Croft Castle near Leominster. There’s a variety of special activities adding to the interest of your family day out.
Get the kids out into the fresh air on the Jack Frost Trail, available daily from Saturday 16th February until Sunday 24th February. Discover how Jack Frost has cast an evil spell over Croft, now bewitched by eternal winter. So follow the half-term trail and see whether you can banish winter from Croft and herald the beginning of spring. There may even be some of the first signs of spring to find as you explore.
Next, head indoors and set off on the Pesky Pests Trail around the castle. If you visit on 21st or 22nd February there will also be Pesky Pests Workshops from 11am to 3pm, inviting visitors to learn how the house team keep the tiny creatures from doing damage.
Finally, don’t forget there is also the natural play area, dressing-up in the castle and the chance to spot birds in Fishpool Valley.
Normal admission charges apply plus £2.50 per Jack Frost Trail.
Please see the National Trust’s website for opening times and other details before visiting.
