Don’t miss Elmer and Friends: The Colourful World of David McKee when it comes to the River & Rowing Museum in Oxfordshire this winter. This wonderfully family-friendly exhibition from Seven Stories, The National Centre for Children’s Books opens in late November and runs until mid March. Enjoy a journey into the colourful world of of illustrator David McKee, who created children’s classic tales and characters such as Elmer the Patchwork Elephant, Not Now Bernard and Mr Benn.
See original illustrations, many of which are on public display for the first time. Special reading spaces within the exhibition invite young visitors and their families to pause and enjoy their favourite stories. Also, take the chance to explore Elmer’s jungle and pop into Mr Benn’s costume shop.
